Day Two, Prescott Valley
I left Rio Rancho early in the morning and headed west. The drive was about 6 hours. Was expecting to hit traffic being Thanksgiving but I didn't.
My plan was to get to Prescott Valley then find a place to eat for Turkey dinner. I could not find a restaurant that was open. I didn't venture too far - just a few miles from my hotel. Disappointed.
I did find a mall and the arena and a movie theater during my search for a restaurant. All were within a mile of my hotel but across a busy highway.
I ended up having a burger and a beer at a local restaurant and lounge. Duke's. Which, in itself, was kind of entertaining. The Broncos were on a big screen TV, several regulars were there. I ended up speaking with Larry, an Atlas Van Line driver. The bartender/chef was from NJ and had played hockey in his younger days.
I ended up going to bed pretty early.
Below is a sample of the scenery I passed driving across NM and into AZ.
This one shows a spirit leaving the ground heading to the skies. You don't see that everyday.
